Join Chef and Holistic Nutritionist Tanya as she introduces you to some quick and delicious side salads to bring with you to a BBQ. We will start off by sipping some fresh chilled rhubarb tea while Tanya explains how to plan and prepare food for an outdoor event. She will focus on grain free and vegetarian food. These recipes can also be adapted for a vegan diet as well. You will get a chance to sample the food and take the recipes home.
On the menu she will demonstrate the following for the class to sample:
-Raw Thai Citrus Crunch Salad
-Quinoa and Broccoli Slaw with Honey Mustard Dressing
-Watermelon, Cucumber and Feta Salad
Throughout her years behind the stove, Tanya has dedicated much of her time to forming relationships with farmers and educating people on the importance of supporting our local food growers and makers. As an educator, Tanya has been teaching cooking classes for over 17 years at various locations including Soupçon, Algonquin College and the Urban Element and hopes to continue inspiring people to cook and eat healthy.
