Nov 24: Seminar NFP Orleans - Better Sleep Starts In The Morning: How circadian timing shapes sleep, mood, and energy
Why can you feel tired in the morning, crash in the afternoon, then suddenly feel wide awake at night?
You can be doing many of the “right” things for your health and still feel tired, inconsistent or unable to sleep when you want to. Sometimes the missing piece isn’t what you’re doing, but when you’re doing it.
Your circadian rhythm is a 24-hour internal timing system that helps coordinate sleep and wakefulness, hormone release, digestion, metabolism, body temperature and energy throughout the day.
In this practical seminar, Nick Papineau-Wright of Circadian Health Co. will break down what your circadian rhythm actually is and explain it through two of the body’s most recognizable daily signals: cortisol and melatonin. From there, we’ll look at the everyday inputs that influence this rhythm, including light exposure, food timing, movement, stress and your evening environment.
Most importantly, this isn’t about creating a perfect routine. You’ll learn how small, realistic changes in timing can help create a clearer distinction between daytime activity and nighttime recovery, supporting steadier energy during the day and a more natural transition toward sleep at night.
What You’ll Learn
- How your circadian rhythm works, including the daily relationship between cortisol and melatonin
- Why morning light, meal timing, movement, and evening light act as signals to your internal clock
- Why you can feel tired during the day but wired at night
- How small changes in when you do things can support sleep, energy, focus and recovery
- How to structure your day around your biology without creating a rigid or unrealistic routine
Tuesday, November 24th, 7-8pm, NFP Orleans location

Nick Papineau-Wright is the founder of Circadian Health Co. and a Certified Sleep Coach based in Ottawa.
His work focuses on helping people understand how the timing of everyday behaviours, including light exposure, meals, movement and sleep, influences their circadian rhythm, energy and recovery.
Through Circadian Health Co., Nick translates circadian science into practical strategies designed to fit real life. His approach emphasizes education over rigid rules, giving people the tools to understand their own rhythms and make sustainable changes to their daily routines.
