Frozen Supercubes - An easy way to support immunity!
Don't underestimate these little cubes! A must-have stock item in your freezer during the cold & flu season, these gems are packed with immune-boosting nutrients including fresh citrus, ginger root, turmeric, and honey. They take only 5 minutes to make, then freeze in a few hours. They can be added to hot water for a healthy tisane, dropped into smoothies, or simply defrosted and taken as a shot.
We love adding 2-3 cubes to a mug of hot water, and adding a scoop of Niyama's Immune Warrior for a powerful and delicious immune elixir.
-
1 naval orange, washed
-
1 lemon, washed
-
Ginger root - a 2-3 inch piece, lightly peeled and cut into small chunks or grated
-
¼ cup honey (unpasteurized & organic)
-
small pinch of fresh ground black pepper
-
2 tbsp turmeric powder (organic) or fresh grated turmeric

-
Remove about 2/3 of the peel from the lemon and orange (leave some on with the white pith as it’s a source of bioflavonoids) and cut the citrus into large pieces
-
Place everything into your blender and blend until smooth
-
If too thick to pour add a bit of water - i usually find the citrus juices are enough though
-
Pour into ice cube trays and freeze for 4 hours or overnight
-
Add 2-3 cubes to a mug of hot water and stir, or add to smoothies or green juices
