Fall 2024 Reset Product Recommendations

A fresh whole foods eating plan is the foundation to our reset experience.  This list contains optional products that may enhance your experience.  None of these products are mandatory.  Please personalize your plan by selecting any of the products below to add. These products are gentle, yet effective at supporting, nourishing and enhancing the body’s ability to heal. The green powder and fish oil offer great benefits to new reset participants.  For enhanced digestive support, add probiotics and prebiotics.  There are many wonderful supplements such as magnesium, proteolytic enzymes, minerals and curcumin or other herbal remedies that help reduce inflammation in the body.  These will be discussed during our zoom calls.   

Sample Supplement Schedule: 

  • Green powder:  Mix with water or smoothie and take with afternoon snack. If you prefer to take greens in the morning, take the AI morning Elixir (see recipes) in the afternoon 
  • Fish oil or Vegan Omega: Take with food. Follow directions on bottle 
  • Probiotic:  Take once daily with breakfast.  If using Cultured coconut for the first time, start with ½ dose for 5 days, then increase to the full dose. 
  • MS Prebiotic: Start with 1/3 recommended dose, gradually increasing to full dose over two-three weeks. Take anytime of day in water or smoothie.
  • Plant Based Protein Powder: Use ½ to a full scoop in smoothies to increase protein intake. 

 

Green Superfood Powder: Green superfood powders contain a combination of concentrated plant foods that are particularly high in chlorophyll, enzymes, phytonutrients and antioxidants.  These powders are incredibly alkalizing, soothing, cleansing, nourishing, energizing, protective and healing.  It’s recommended that you consume one-two servings of green superfood powders daily during the reset. This is a top recommendation for reducing inflammation.  If you are new to these powders, one serving daily is recommended.  For those already taking green powders, two servings will enhance your experience.  Some great blends are: Greens, Younited Greens, Niyama Green Goddess, Progressive VegeGreens, Ergogenics Adventure or Botanica Perfect Greens.  Individual Green powders for those who may have intolerances or sensitivities: Organic Traditions or Prairie Naturals WheatGrass or BarleyGrass OR Prairie Naturals AquaGreens.  Sea greens offer greater cellular and heavy metal detoxification as well as thyroid support. The grass and veggie blends offer excellent liver and bowel support and cleansing.  You can’t go wrong with any of them!  

 

Omega 3 Fish Oil:  Most individuals are deficient in the essential fatty acid, omega 3 as it is difficult to obtain enough through food.  Supplementing with a high quality omega 3 fish or algae oil is an effective way to obtain this essential nutrient which is involoved in regulating inflammation and immunity, supporting cellular and brain health, lubricating the joints and bowels, supporting cardiovascular, skin and eye health. If your fish oil supplement does not contain added vitamin D, it is recommended to also take a vitamin D 1000IU supplement, particularly through the colder months. Some fabulous brand for both quality and taste are: Sealicious, AquaOmega, Younited capsules 

 

 

MS PrebioticGut health is foundational! The strength and stability of the gut microbiome affects other aspects of our health (cardiovascular, cognitive, gastrointestinal, immune, etc.) All of our body systems are interconnected – and the root of those connections is the gut. A healthy gut gives us the best chance at good overall health!  Increasing beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiome starts by providing nourishment to our bacteria.  MS prebiotic does just that.  This then leads to improved digestion, immunity, mental health and reduced inflammation. MS prebiotic is clinically demonstrated to increase good bacteria in the gut, improving digestion and regularity.  

 

 

Cultured Coconut kefir probiotic or Probiotic capsules: Taking 1 tbsp of Cultured Coconut probiotic per day during the cleanse (morning or night) helps to increase the good bacteria in your gut, providing additional support to your digestive system. This will help to ensure bowel regularity.  A probiotic capsule is an acceptable alternative as well and is preferred by those prone to candida yeast or SIBO.  There are many great brands of Probiotic capsules including Progressive, Renewlife, Natural Factors and Genuine Health. 

 

Plant Based Protein:  Obtaining enough protein at breakfast will help prevent cravings and energy fluctuations throughout the day.  Vanilla or plain powders make a great addition to smoothies, porridge, oats, power bars and balls or chia pudding.  Do plant based protein powders make you feel bloated?  Look for a fermented or sprouted protein product. 

 

Digestive Support Teas: There are many great herbal teas for that support digestion. Supporting digestion often results in reduced inflammation systemically. Peppermint, fennel and ginger are all excellent options for reducing gas and bloating.  Green Tea, particularly Matcha is excellent for mental focus, stimulating metabolism and is an excellent alternative to coffee. Teas containing turmeric are fabulous for soothing inflammation and supporting liver/digestive function. Teeccino is another great coffee substitute that has a coffee-like flavour.  Mushroom Coffees enhance the gut-brain and immune systems. Purchase enough herbal tea so that you will be able to have one-two cups of herbal tea daily.
