This is a simple beverage recipe that takes only minutes to prepare and includes key ingredients for healthy digestion, metabolism, detoxification and energy production. This beverage is best prepared and sipped within 30 minutes of rising. Ideally, allow minimum of 30 minutes after consuming before having breakfast. Lemon water (¼-½ of a fresh lemon squeezed into 1 cup of water) is an alternative option.
1 serving:
1 cup of warm or hot water (you may use more if you prefer it more diluted)
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
½ tsp fresh grated ginger or ¼ tsp ginger powder
½ tsp cinnamon powder
1 dash cayenne pepper powder (optional)
1 tsp local honey or maple syrup for sweetness (optional)
5 servings:
5 or more cups of hot water
10 tbsp apple cider vinegar
5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 ½ tbsp fresh grated ginger or 1 ¼ tsp ginger powder
2 ½ tsp cinnamon powder
A few dashes of cayenne powder (optional)
2 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
Boil the water and let cool slightly. Mix all ingredients together. Best served warm but drink at desired temperature. If making a larger amount, allow the drink to cool and then refrigerate in a glass, ceramic or stainless-steel pitcher or jar.
