4:00-4:45pm Discover the BIG difference between Conventional and Natural Sunscreens!  With Alain Menard of The Green Beaver Company

Conventional sunscreens with chemical UV filters contain many other dangerous chemicals such as preservatives, artificial fragrances and silicones. Many of these chemicals are absorbed into the body and can be measured in blood, breast milk and urine samples. Join us and learn about the latest concerns with conventional sunscreens!

Did you know….

  • Typical conventional sunscreen contains 3 to 5 chemical filters.
  • Chemical filters commonly account for at least 25% of the total product
  • The state of Hawaii has banned the distribution of sunscreens that contain oxybenzone and octinoxate because they are toxic to coral reefs
  • Some studies have linked some chemical UV filters with hormone-disrupting activity in lab tests and low birth weight in infant girls
  • Oxybenzone was found in urine samples of 97 percent of subjects in a study done by the Centers for Disease Control)

There are much safer and healthier products for you and your family! Come and learn about your options!

Alain Ménard is a microbiologist and the  co-founder of The Green Beaver Company together with biochemist Karen Clark. Both Alain and Karen were  appalled by the amount of chemicals found in kid’s shampoos, bubble baths and other body care products. With their new family in mind, they decided to do something about it. They left the pharmaceutical and pesticide industry behind to create healthier natural products. Alain shares his passion by regularly presenting seminars on the potential health risks and environmental hazards associated with the chemicals found in everyday personal care products.
