With Billie Lynn Hillis of GAIA Wellness Retreat
Sun Dec 1, 10:30am-12:30pm - NFP Barrhaven
Join us on a journey into compassion and kindness. A journey into the self. A letting go of the old ways and making space for new ways of being and for true healing in our lives.
We will begin with a deep relaxation meditation using Sound and Vibration to allow ourselves space to just be. Creating a space to let go and grow. Using ancient sacred instruments like Tibetan bowls, Gongs, Crystal Bowls, Bells, Chimes, Voice and other percussive instruments we will take this journey together. Refreshments will then be served from the NFP Cafe followed by a discussion on self-compassion.
Self-Compassion teaches us how to develop the warm-hearted, connected presence we need during moments of difficulty. Self-compassion provides the emotional strength and resilience needed to offer ourselves the same kindness and understanding we would offer a good friend. With self-compassion we can motivate ourselves with encouragement, forgive ourselves when needed, face and befriend our shortcomings, care for others while caring for ourselves, and live more authentically. Research shows that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, lower levels of anxiety and depression, increased healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships.
In this workshop, you will:
-Experience a relaxing Sound Healing Journey
-Learn mindfulness and self-compassion practices
-Learn how to handle difficult emotions with greater ease
-Learn how to motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
-Learn how to uncover your core values and courageously live more in alignment with them
-Learn how to transform challenging relationships, old and new
-Practice the art of savoring, gratitude and self-appreciation
